Over the years, Surcotec has developed highly technical products based on its extensive surfaces knowledge. Indeed, it is not enough to have excellent coated parts or machining people for the global specification to be completed. Much of the industry identified problems have always to deal with surfaces or interfaces, whether in manufacturing, cleaning, preparation, polishing, termination or simply by handling.

The products featured below are part of the answer!

1. Ultrasonic cleaning solution

In order to guaranty the surface parts quality for PVD coating or just to supply clean parts (double package clean room or other), various detergents were designed in order to handle different alloys. We have successfully developed especially 2 models:

- IDEAL SURCO 10 => sensitive alloy (20AP, Durnico, brass, copper, but also gold, stainless steel and titanium)

- SURCOCLEAN 212 => less-sensitive alloy (gold, stainless steel, titanium, ...)

As part of its core competence in surfaces understanding, Surcotec is at your disposal to advise and assess you in the most relevant way to fullfill your specifications.

Indeed, thanks to our laboratory in which we perform daily reviews of surfaces and materials expertise (with a scanning electron microscopy), Surcotec can assess the type of contaminant that is located in your parts and deduce a specific concept for your cleaning application.

2. Protective lacquer familly: SURCOLAK

During polishing or finishing operations of delicate parts (polished alloys sensitive to manipulation), a protective lacquer is regularly used to avoid damaging some completed areas. However it is essential to simply and effectively remove the product with the certainty that the lacquer removal has not damaged the long work just done.

To do this, Surcotec has developed, now already 15 years ago, a family of varnish, called Surcolak, which can be used for the following applications:

- protection of sensitive or polished parts in-between mechanical operations

- maintenance / gluing of small parts during machining operations

These lacquers can be simply removed as they are water or alcohol soluble products, that means it can be very easily eliminated during a standards cleaning cycle.

They are available in several formulations and colors:

Remarque: If the film is not strong enough for the application, please steam the product to 50 ° for 15-30 minutes just before the operations, as a well dehydrated layer will have again more strength. Max temperature of 60 °

3. High-tech lubrificative solution

Whether in the medical or watchmaker or general micromechanics field , micro-systems are subject to increasing specifications where every gain in performance is worth to work on. Based on the efficacy of fluorinated products in terms of lubrication, Surcotec has developed an innovative lubrication solution that has the following advantages:

- Excellent penetration due to very low surface tension (<10 dyn), which allows this product to fill the smallest parts of the treated pieces..

- High chemical and thermal stability.

- After evaporation of the solvent, the active ingredient is distributed in a very homogeneous and highly reproductive way.

This lubrificative solution, which bears the number 148, is already used by many customers for the following purposes:

- "Keeping free" of assembled parts (moving system that flu)

- Joints that are subjected to high demands (rotation under high pressure)

- Micro-system that requires insured disassembly

- ...

The product is available in bottles of 100ml and has a slightly whitish color.

4. Microfiber tissues and gloves

Mishandling of parts is a major cause of scrap rate in production, with consequences on the time and cost of manufacture. Indeed, the parts in production requires a significant amount of operators that can damage each time the work done by others.

One solution is the controlled the manipulation of parts, with adapted products, either gloves or tissue, to prevent scratching or marking the pieces.

Surcotec, through its surfaces competence center has identified microfiber technology products that meet those specifications and is the exclusive distributor for the watch industry.

These microfibre fabrics have been specially developed for the following operations:

- Handling of very sensitive parts

- Cleaning or polishing of delicate surfaces

 

5. Screw new generation thread-lock

The assembly of screws on the watch case or on the bracelet often face problems either of cleanliness or break of the screws in relation to the use of adhesives or non-adapted thread-lock that are deposited randomly in the screw housing. These products are difficult to use, require regulary cleaning operators after the assembly or at worst render impossible the change/shorten a the bracelet in the shop (screws break).

With his surfaces engineering knowledge, Surcotec has developed, already 7 years ago, a new generation of thread-lock that is ready for use: The coating, called Nanofrein has the following advantages:

- High resistance to various mechanical, vibrational and chemical stresses (cleaning, rhodium-plating) during the different production stages of watch.

- Screws are washed and processed ready for use.

- Increase and optimization of the release.

- Introduction of a residual couple that is absent with other liquid adhesives (more than 10 mNm to secure the screws holding ).

- Possibility, in some cases, to reuse the processed screws, thus facilitating the operations of the after-sales.

- Possibility to use the processed screws in the production line (partial removal of the screws of work).

- Treatment is available in several variants to suit the specifications (stainless steel or gold screws, M1.4, S1.0 ...)
